Next week it will be the last week of school and it  was pretty cool and  I am writing this letter to say goodbye and to say have a good christmas.Also to say thankyou to the teachers for helping us to learn new staff.And thankyou to Lorenzo,Matiu and Peteli. Hope you have a good holiday.

year 6 camp to kawau island.

we went to  a realy cool island named kawau island we did benty of adventuring and activty.

On Tuesday 18th  the year 6 girls and boys went to camp at Kawau island where camp bentzon first we got to sandspit from  the bus then we wait a little bit for the tide to come in. So we went to the park and some of the boys tryed to jump thourgh the hole.fanily the ferry arvrried so  the leaders had to help out the teachers to put the bags in.

When we were leaving to Kawau island I was starting to miss my mum,dad and sublings.but I was excited at the same time so when were leaving we saw some dolphine.when we got there we unload the bags and put it onto the deck.then we went hiking it was could killer hill it took for 4 or 5 hours to walk up.

Then we had to get our bags and take it to our cabin we had some people to sleep with in the cabin but girls and boys was split but  I had one friend and one cousin and one enemy that snore’s it was matiu,simon,uli and  When we were almost at the beach I had to go down a zigzag hill it was very stemp. When We arrived at the beach I had lunch.  I had fun and then we went back to our cabins. Then we slept for three nights. we got  into groups it was bentzon,moinsion kawau and cats I was in bentzon and guess who won BENTZON!!!!!!!.

I felt very excited and sad because we where going back.

In maths class we have been researching picture that presents  your  culture that is your Mum and dad .My culture was Maori and cook island.Then we drew our  culture it took me three days to draw my drawing.it was hard.

Then we got our boards and drew our photo that we drew on paper.Then we painted our picture our technique it was called cut in line the first colur we used is yellow because it was the lightes primary colour.

Then we had to vided it  to blind it in so you can see better.

We have been reading about the Victorian Age. We found out that children used to learn which countries were part of the British Empire by looking on a map. All of the countries in the British Empire were red or pink. I have highlighted the countries in the British Empire during the Victorian Era in red or pink.

  How to be good Pt Englander

To be a good  Pt Englander  you have to be polite   so we can be respectful so the  kids from little age will do good things.Most importantly is to be cyber smart and to act smart.It is bad to be dodge because it is the wrong footprint.

Being polite as a pt englander is to listen to your teacher by not talking when the teacher is talking also to do what she or he tells you to do.Also you have to say “please”,thank you” and “excuse me”.When I ask my Dad if I can have some money I say “please” and “thank you”. If you be polite to other people they will give back some polite to you.

Being cyber smarts is the most important thing. Like if you are going to be doing bad things online when it is school time that mean’s you are doing the wrong thing. So you can be like me to go on learning links.Don’t play games when it is time for learning or you will be dum.

wearing it with bride is when you be tidy,tuck it in . Why should you wear it with bride?so you can represent your school and family.Tuck it in means your jumper is not around your waist.Also to tuck in your t-shirt in your jumper.

If you do these good thing then  you will be doing great like wearing it with pride,being cyber smart and respecting your teacher.This can also help the new kids that come to Pt England

In the holidays we me and my sister’s went  to the park to have a picnic we went to the otara park it was  at the long slide it was funny because I went fast and guest what happened? I landed on my bottom.Then it was time to go to my cousin house.

At my cousin house we had to come and see the baby shower it was one of my cousin baby that was it’s baby shower.Next my cousin  asked my mum if I could sleep over and she said “yes” it was awesome because we had burger for dinner.

Then it was time to go home we played  T-ball I hit it far as I could I got a home run because there  were only three base’s.Then we went home to tidy up the house it took for  1 hour to clean it.

It was time to end the school  holiday i felt so happy and excited .

Funral.

On a bad weather Thursday September 18th I didn’t come to school because I was  at a funeral. It was  my papa teao that past away. That was Isaac's papa and my papa but Isaka call him dad. He was also a  minister for our church. They had him at the house for a whole week.

On Thursday was the family service. That’s why I did not go to school for the trip to the museum. But it was cool because we had a  big feed. We had  chicken and potato salad. It was so nice that I couldn’t stop eating it.

Friday was the burial. We had it  at a church. Then we had to go and bury my papa. I did not get to go and see him buried because we had to stay at the church and cook the food. After that all of the people came back. That was sad because we didn't get to see my papa.



At the funeral I felt so so so so ! SAD! because that was my uncles dad

super soccer  has been is invented in auckland.  it is also made up from a student named   kind of like soccer but you have to try and get the ball into the goal it is like a ring shape but it is bigger so the ball can fit through the goal post. It has been played on a soccer field.

The equipment you need are soccer shoes,shorts, water bottle and any kind of colored T-shirt.Also you have to try and get the ball of the other team.

The rules in this game  is there are no fighting,No handball and also there is no cheating.The players and position is there is only 5 on 5  and there is attackers and shooter but there is no goalie.

Monday In Assembly it was a special day to remember people that went to world war 1  but I am doing world war 2 .On August the 4th 1939 World War 2 started. It was the second World War. It lasted from 1939 to 1945.  More than 30   countries got send to  war. It is also involved 100 people.

The history of commonwealth games.

The  commonwealth   games it is unique and   is  also called friendly games  . the first commonwealth   started in 1930 in Canada.11 country sent 400 athletes to play 6 different kind of sport and to have 59 events.since then every 4 years the commonwealth games was played but not 1942 and 1946 because it was the second world war begin.

The events has chance a lot,even it’s name has changed,and some of the games has changed.From 1930-1950 it was call the Empire games.In 1954-1966 it was called the British empire commonwealth games.Later in 1970-1974 it was called the  British commonwealth games.now on 1978 it was called commonwealth games.

In the holiday I went to my cousin house  we played on my cousin PS3 we played Mine craft,Lego Batman and All Star’s.

Then we  had a feed  we  had  Takeaway,Doughnut and barbecue . After  we ate we played on the mini ipad me and my cousin was playing  injustice. We  were  play fighting on the  trampoline .Next we  had to  read book when we are finish  playing .

We played on the road we played rugby I play with my cousin Aj and Niki we got 5 goals we  vs Aj’s friends. Then we had to go and  clean the dishes. When we were finish we  went   on the  computer me and my cousin play two player’s  it was called Escape jail.

I felt very happy that I played with my cousins.

In 1820 there were a ship that was called The Essex it was a boat that was hunting for whales in the Pacific Ocean. The captain was killing a whale and  it was 32 metres  long the captain and the crews was trying to  kill the whale but  it was nouse . Then the whale got away with captain Ahab Leg and had to replace a whale bone for captain Ahab leg.

Then captain Ahab went back to kill moby dick .It  took for 3 Months to look for the whale .Finally they found the whale and tried and tried to kill it but it was too strong.Suddenly the whale it  head two time’s and the ship sunk. Also captain Ahab went down with the whale because it was trapped on the whale with the rope. There were 20 people that survived.

The crews was get hungry but they had no food to eat. One of the crew     did something wrong the youngest owen coffin got shoten and the crew started to eat him because there were no food to eat.

A Endeavour ship has been travelling from England to New Zealand also it belonged to Captain  Cook.The ship took almost 3 years to get to NZ it is also in the 50 cent coin do you know that?.

Captain cook was the first English person to find NZ when he found NZ the Endeavour ship became a whaling ship because it was hunting for whales

Submersible have  wings like jets but  they go under water and investigate the sea. It only takes one person to go in and investigate the sea .Submersibles do not have buoyancy tank , they go dip but not all the way down where the ground and then the wing push it through the sea like a air jet.

Swimming.

When we got changed we had to rinse off whatever was on us . Then we walked to  the chair’s , but when we were walking we were shivering and shaking like a frozen person.Have you ever felt like a lce block.

When we were in the pool the Instructor gave us a flutter board to use .Sometimes the Instructor showed us how to do rocket arm,arm circle and fast little kick’s.Rocket arm Is when you put your arms above your head and behind your ears, hands together, When you do this your body looks like a rocket and helps us float.

I love swimming! This term I had 8 lesson with some amazing Instructors. They taught me lots of skills, and my technique is getting better and better.
